Your mother has $100,000 in savings, but home care will cost you over $4,000 a month. You wonder – is there a program that could help my mother stay in her own home? Actually there is...
Medicaid provides medical assistance to people meeting certain income and resource criteria. Coverage includes hospital care, nursing home care, dental care, prescription drugs and a variety of home care services.
On Thursday, October 20, 2011, OSA staffer John Turley will help you navigate the complexities of Medicaid eligibility for home care and other services. He will also examine recent changes in eligibility brought about by the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA), especially in the transfers of assets. These changes primarily affect nursing home eligibility. John will answer questions following his presentation. John worked for 40 years for the Medical Assistance Program, recently retiring as the Director of Field Operations for the Home Care Services Program.
Refreshments and registration begin at 5:30pm. To reserve your seat, please click here to download a coupon, which you should print, complete and return to the OSA office by October 13, 2011.
